The Dia de Muertos Steamroller Print Project is a means for community to come together for a creative, collaborative art endeavor to celebrate life, art and culture.
The print design will be rooted in Dia de Muertos, a vibrant Latin American holiday that remembers and honors loved ones who have passed. There will be various printmaking workshops inviting anyone from the public to participate. There will also be a call to printmakers and artists who already have the artistic knowhow, and free print project meet ups for people to come use our space and supplies to carve their project block and connect with community.
Everyone is invited to gather at JUMP on October 20th with their project carved blocks, a steamroller, sheet fabric and much ink to print their creations. Check our this short video to see footage from the last Steamroller Print Project with the Idaho Historical Museum. All of the prints, large and small, will be displayed at JUMP during November 1st Thursday Day of the Dead celebration and mounted for a procession around downtown Boise.
