It has never been more exciting, or more important to support local music as it is right now!
Local event organizers and live music lovers Karlee May and Steve Fulton are teaming up with JUMP to produce a free outdoor music series this summer.
The JUMP Jam & Jive Summer Concert Series will take place every other week beginning Tuesday, June 8th, rain or shine, outdoors at JUMP. Come scope out a spot starting at 5pm, and from 6pm-8pm enjoy two different performance groups taking the JUMP stage each week. While the bands will play in the outdoor amphitheater, the show will also be streamed to the large outdoor JUMPotron screen, providing extra and ample viewing areas. The 8-show series will run through Tuesday, September 7, with the final 2 shows falling on back-to-back weeks. For inclement weather, the show will move “under cover” to the open-air 4th Level Parking Deck, allowing fans to still spread out in the fresh air while staying dry. Sound for both locations will be provided by Audio Lab.
“We all know the music industry is one that has been hit hard over the last year, and we are beyond ecstatic to provide something for our community and show support. Using the incredible outdoor spaces throughout the JUMP site, there are thousands of square feet for all ages to spread out, enjoy live music, and support our local arts and music scene while feeling comfortable doing so”, said May.
“Being a long time Boise and Idaho Musician and Music industry veteran I can't think of a better event for our community and our Performing Artists”, said Fulton.
Attendees can also look forward to additional arts programming from local non-profits, pop-up surprises, and access to cool JUMP spaces and amenities as part of the event.
“As a creative center and community gathering space designed to inspire, we are excited to support incredible local musicians, but we are also thrilled to showcase youth and local non-profit performing organizations as this is a unique opportunity to perform before a live audience, which can build self-esteem and self-confidence, and help youth and others see themselves and the world around them differently,” said JUMP Executive Director Maggie Soderberg.
This team is taking extra safety precautions by offering many comfortable safety measures, allowing for as many levels of participation as possible. Following local health and safety guidelines, protocols like; distanced & marked viewing areas, additional food and beverage outlets to eliminate lines, plenty of green space to spread out and audio piped throughout the entire site (including rooftop decks) are just some examples of how the public will be able to find ways and space to accommodate their own comfort levels while supporting and enjoying live, local music and up-and-coming performers this summer.
Attendees will be able to purchase prepackaged snacks, craft beer, wine and water each week at the venue, or plan to stop at your favorite downtown spot after and show the businesses working hard to reopen some love. We are all in this together.
