Join newly established Boise Design Week for the LAUNCH party of the future week-long inspirational, networking, and community-building event. With the goal to become a five-day event in 2026, Boise Design Week: LAUNCH brings together designers covering all industries and aspects of design, with the goal of bringing together the community in creativity, innovation, and design.
The LAUNCH party will feature local speakers, community exhibitors, refreshments, and more. Stick around after the lectures for and after party where we open the stage for creative leaders, play backyard games, sing karaoke, and more!

Alex Caves | Designer / Design Engineer / Cinematographer / CEO
Founder of CAVES CREATIVE | Founder of BOISE DESIGN WEEK
Bio: Alex is a relentless optimizer, a world traveler, creative problem solver, a collector of skills, a do-it-all designer, and a student of leadership. He is what they call specialized generalist, or in Laymen’s terms, a jack of all trades - which allow him to conceptualize unique solution to complex problems and utilize whatever skills necessary to execute the vision at hand.
His love of creating things and experiences that's never existed before has led him from his first love of metal fabrication and welding, to studying industrial design at the University of Oregon, to moving to Boise to work for a design and build shop, to starting his own design business, and to now, starting Boise Design Week.

Bio: As the Co-President of Monarc LLC, Nate leads the product development team to design and launch innovative products for the retail industry. With His extensive experience and skills in market research, product design, and marketing, he have successfully delivered products that have won awards, secured a design patent, and increased customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Filmmaking: Greg Wilson | Director / Cinematographer / Photographer | 6:35 - 7:05 PM
Founder of SUPERMASSIVE WORKS | Co-Founder of V/SPEED FILMS
Bio: Greg Wilson, an Oscars short-listed and Emmy Awards-winning director / cinematographer, has become known for designing and crafting unique solutions to previously impossible cinematic shots, often in extreme environments – always pushing for innovation in his work.
In 2019, Greg co-founded V/SPEED, a pioneering jet-aerial cinematography company with the aim of transforming how we see the world around us. Greg designed and helped physically build their custom L-39 camera ship in Hollister, CA. Greg now has nearly 1000 hours flying camera systems in jet aircraft and helicopters all over the world. He has been cleared into the restricted airspace above NASA and SpaceX missions, including ARTEMIS, while the rockets were hot and upon launch.

Bio: John doesn’t just design for place—he listens to it. Then he rolls up his sleeves, layers in story, and builds something that speaks back. Equal parts artist, fabricator, and futurist, he’s spent his life chasing beauty, meaning, and utility—especially in the overlooked corners of our world.
From firefighting in the Navy to founding one of Idaho’s most respected environmental design studios, John’s journey has been anything but linear. With over 25 years in creative trades, he’s helped shape how communities see themselves—through wayfinding, public art, identity systems, and human-centered storytelling.
As co-founder of Trademark Creative Studio, John leads a team that specializes in experiential design, blending craft and community to elevate public space. His work aims to create connection, foster civic pride, and rid the world of mediocre design—by revealing the beauty and identity already rooted in each place.

Bio: Jennie doesn’t just challenge the status quo, she sets it on fire and rebuilds from the embers. She’s a relentless experimenter, a what-if wielder, and a left-brain/right-brain mixologist who thrives on solving tough problems in unexpected ways.
With a BFA, an MBA, and over 20 years of experience, she lives at the intersection of creativity, strategy, and impact. As owner of Against, she built more than a company—she created a space where oddball talents drive purposeful work that yields both profit and progress for companies who care about improving their impact on humanity and the planet.
9:00 - 10:30 PM: AFTER PARTY | After the Main Event the room will transition into a fun, game filled experience, designed to create the perfect networking atmosphere.The after party kicks off with a musical performance, then opens up to anyone brave enough to get on stage and sing!

Bio: Tree City Soul is a pop cover band based in Boise, ID, known for their eclectic blend of funk, soul, pop, R&B, and dance music. Comprised of veteran musicians, each member brings a wealth of touring experience from across the country, having mastered a variety of genres including rock, jazz, and blues.
At the heart of Tree City Soul is a commitment to virtuosity. Our musicians are not just performers; they are maestros in their own right, dedicated to delivering a show that resonates with both aficionados of intricate musical craftsmanship and those looking to let loose on the dance floor.
Karaoke with DJ Pho-Tato (Viet Tran) | 9:30 - 10:30 PM
Bio: Viet moved to Boise 13 years ago before Boise appeared on the national radar. After 11 years in finances, his hobby turned side hustle, turned main gig became his passion. He quit his career to focus full-time on growing an entertainment business. Many now know him as the "karaoke guy." His passions are networking, dining, happy hours, sports, and creating an environment where everyone around him is vibing/ partying/ and having fun. And obviously music
