Are you peri or postmenopausal and experiencing changes in your strength or balance? Difficulty exercising how you used to? Are you having challenges with bladder, bowel or sexual function?

This can impact our strength, balance and mobility, our pelvic floors and pelvic functions (bowel, bladder and sexual). Come learn about your anatomy, how menopause may affect it and your pelvic functions, and some basic ways to care for your core and optimize your midlife health.
PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN:
Pelvic anatomy & core musculature -deep abdominals to the pelvic floor.
Common effects of menopause on our anatomy
How to contract and relax your core
Basic stretching and strengthening exercises and self-care strategies
TAKEAWAYS:
You will gain a deeper understanding of your pelvic anatomy, your core musculature and the effects menopause can have on them, as well as strategies and exercises for optimizing your health in midlife. Handouts on basic exercises and information will be provided.

Pen and paper if you want to take notes
Please inform us of any injuries or other health conditions that affect your ability to move. (Each participant will be required to fill out a waiver.)

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Kara Katzenmeyer
I am a women's health & pelvic floor therapist with a boutique therapy practice in Boise called Flourish Women's Wellness. I specialize in women's health throughout the lifespan with an emphasis on pelvic health, menopause and midlife fitness. I utilize lifestyle education, manual therapy and therapeutic movement to address bowel, bladder and sexual function, and mitigate pelvic pain. I also help women manage menstrual and other hormonally driven issues, provide pregnancy support, and assist with postpartum and surgical recovery. At midlife I help women navigate the menopause transition and achieve their fitness and wellness goals. I have a master’s degree in occupational therapy, certificates in pelvic health, movement therapy, massage and wellness coaching, and a bachelor's degree in dance.
As a postmenopausal woman myself, I am particularly passionate about teaching midlife women about their bodies and helping them navigate the changes and challenges they may face, so that they can maximize their menopausal wellness and fitness and find their midlife groove!
