What the Heck is a Flywheel?

Here’s a hint, it has nothing to do with a house fly. A flywheel on a tractor is a heavy wheel that stores kinetic energy generated by a tractor’s engine to help power farm equipment to do work. Did you know that tractors (and their flywheels) were revolutionary in advancing farming? These important machines make it possible to feed more Americans with less water and land, thereby making food more affordable. We think that is something worth celebrating.

The Flywheel Fest is your invitation to learn more about agriculture, tractors, and the important role they play in all our lives (and have a lot of fun too)!
