Join Kirby Heyborne, musician and host of Making Good, for a fun and interactive songwriting workshop that will empower attendees to create a song others will want to listen to.
There will be two separate session options: the first at 10am-2pm and the second from 2-5pm.
Attendees will learn the following:
· The power of a good brainstorm and how to make it pour
· The importance of melodic and lyrical hooks and how to create them
· How to create a great chorus that is singable and memorable
· How to know what to write about
· How vulnerability is universal
· How to find a spiritual connection to your song and to people
· The beauty of simplicity and how it sets you free
· A bunch of other stuff necessary to create a beautiful song that resonates with people!
By the end of the workshop, attendees will have all the tools necessary to create an original song that resonates with people.

Kirby Heyborne Bio:
Kirby Heyborne is an accomplished actor, narrator, musician and comedian. He has received critical acclaim for his starring role in the WWII drama Saints and Soldiers which was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. He also starred in the award-winning boy band mockumentary, The Sons of Provo, The Singles Ward, The Best Two Years, and The Farrelly Brothers FOX feature The Three Stooges opposite Sean Hayes and Sofia Vergara. Kirby was a series regular on the hit FOX sitcom Free Ride and has appeared in numerous national commercial campaigns including Target, Honda, Best Buy, Mastercard, Volkswagen, Wendy’s, Mini Cooper, Liberty Mutual, Jack in the Box, Xfinity, CarMax, Dish Network, Jif, and many more.
Kirby currently hosts the popular BYUTV show, “Making Good.”
Kirby is co-founder and director of the celebrated LA-based improv comedy group The Society.
Creative, talented and versatile, Kirby has been nominated for a Grammy for his narration of Charlotte’s Web. He has twice received the highest honor in narration bestowed by the American Library Association – The Odyssey Award. He has also received a number of AudioFile Magazine’s Earphone awards for excellence in narration. Kirby has narrated multiple series including Brandon Mull’s DRAGONWATCH series, MISS PERIGRINE’S SCHOOL FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN, and Gerald Lund’s FIRE AND STEEL series. With close to 2000 audiobooks under his belt, Kirby is considered one of the finest and most sought-after narrators working today.
Kirby’s greatest accomplishment is his family. He loves spending time hiking, biking, camping, singing and laughing with his wife and 3 kids.
