OPTICS OF ASSEMBLAGE

Nocturnal and fascinating animals, owls are the inspiration for two collaged quilts I’m calling OPTICS OF ASSEMBLAGE. Opaque recycled wood and cardboard combined with translucent and reflective laser-cut acrylic parts will form the quilt. I want to explore how the light will play off the piece and result in colorful cast shadows. There will also be immersive music composed by my older daughter Kate, along with giant glowing owl pellets made of tulle and tissue with little surprises inside.
