Dress Up Your Ketchup
Dipping Sauce Competition – Ideal Group Size 15-25
At JUMP French fries and potatoes are part of our DNA! And while we claim to have the recipe for the tastiest fries, they can always be made better with a tasty sauce. In this friendly competition, participants work in teams. All the essential ingredients are included for each team to create a delicious fry sauce. This activity fosters creativity, teambuilding and of course a healthy appetite. Which is why the best part of the competition is sampling each sauce to find a winner.
Chopped!
In this edible competition based on the Food Network television series, CHOPPED, guests work in teams to create delicious dishes. The program begins with a chopping demonstration. Next, teams receive a basket filled with a variety of ingredients. They must use all ingredients including a mystery item to create a culinary masterpiece to share. In this friendly competition, teams race the clock for added excitement. Judges sample each dish to name a winner based on taste, presentation and more. We all delight in tasting the dishes to conclude.
Tastebuds
“Tastebuds” is a hilarious game where tasting skills are put to the test! Working in teams, participants are blindfolded, with one partner tasting and the other guessing. The taster samples a mystery ‘dish’ with his/her hands behind their back. Next, the taster must describe the dish to his/her teammate without naming it. The team with the winning record wins!
Shake and Scoop: Ice Cream in a Bag
20 kids: 55 mins
A fun hands-on activity where participants experiment making different types of ice cream. Learn how to make ice cream in a bag while also observing a little kitchen science along the way. After you combine sugar, cream and flavoring (vanilla or fruit) into a bag, place it into another bag of ice and start shaking it. After a few minutes of shaking and agitating the bag, open it up and enjoy your homemade treat.
While you enjoy your frosty creation, discern the difference in buying retail vs. homemade during our ingredients cost game. After you have a better idea of cost, brainstorm a new and unique (and delicious) flavor that you can pitch to the store. Think of a name and sketch out a label idea. The winner of the ingredient game will pitch their ideas to the grocery store owner first... why should they buy and stock your new ice cream in their store? Will your new frosty treat be in the aisles next to Ben and Jerry next month?
