Studio Community Projects

JUMP, Jack’s Urban Meeting Place, is a nonprofit, interactive creative center and community gathering place. It’s a place for everyone to discover new possibilities and explore their potential.

Studio Community Projects are FREE opportunities for individuals, groups, teachers, and/or students to propose a project utilizing JUMP studio spaces and equipmentStudio Community Projects can be anything you can imagine; build your own skateboard, create a podcast, choreograph a dance routine, edit a film, etc. Teachers can bring their students to see a project through or utilize our tools to create something to take back to use in their classroom like a shadow puppet theater, or a demo for a scientific lab.

Participants can use any of the five JUMP Studios, or a mix of all of them to create, build and tinker. Our team will help you get started and teach you the tools you’ll need to successfully complete your idea. We will not, however, do the work or fabrication for you, this is your project after all.

Projects are REQUIRED to also create one or more of the following EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES, for future creatives to follow.

  1. Step-by-Step DIY Instructions.

  2. A Podcast

  3. A How-to Video

  4. A Recipe

  5. A Lesson/Class Plan

  6. A Video Recording of a community brainstorm

The educational resources produced by the Studio Projects are posted to JUMP's BLOG, which pulls links from YouTube, Instructables, GitHub and other online repositories. We are also always open to hearing your ideas for Educational Resources that are not listed here!

You will get an opportunity to present your project at a Studio Social event, where we invite the public, instructors, and other participants to share, connect, and learn.

Projects are selected based on :

  • Clear project description and goals

  • Passion for creating an Educational Resource

  • Timeline & Logistic management

Got a wild idea? Let's bring it to life!
