StoryCorps DIY returns to JUMP with a goal to record and preserve 1,000 stories of Idahoans like you.
After celebrating JUMP's ten-year anniversary, we are reflecting on that moment in time that JUMP came to be, and now, we are inviting the community to your stories bout a moment in the past that was meaningful, life altering, or holds a special place in your heart. These moments could be anniversaries, birthdays, a special date, a concert, a vacation, or a simple sweet memory.
Using our fully equipped podcast studio, Mark the Moment is an opportunity to ask someone you know about their life or share a memory together. For 45 minutes, the two of you can talk about a moment in time that you want to commemorate. You might ask questions like:
Can you tell me about a moment when a person’s kindness made a difference in your life?
Could you tell me about your wedding day?
Will you share the story of my birth?
At the end of your conversation, you’ll receive a free recording to share with family and friends. With your permission, a copy will be preserved in the StoryCorps archive and the Library of Congress.
Mark the Moment at JUMP is an audio project only—no video will be taken.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
StoryCorps sessions are typically two person interviews. Participants come with a companion. One will be the interviewer, and one will be the interviewee, or you may interview each other. It is possible, but uncommon, to have 3-4 people in the booth for an interview.
There is no host; StoryCorps enables participants to interview or be interviewed by someone they know.
Participants have 1 hour in the studio. The first 15 minutes will consist of an orientation and mic check. The remaining 45 minutes are yours.
Interview participants must be 13 years of age or older.
Upon making a reservation, participants will receive a confirmation email with details, helpful documents, directions, and other necessary information.
StoryCorps is a nationally recognized independent nonprofit, sharing stories with the public through podcasts, animated shorts, digital platforms, and best-selling books, even sharing stories weekly on NPR to over 12 million listeners. They believe everyone has an important story to tell and everyone’s story matters. Their mission: to help us believe in each other by illuminating the humanity and possibility in us all — one story at a time.
