Downtown Boise comes alive the first Thursday of each month to celebrate local businesses and enjoy our beautiful community! Every month, JUMP has a handful of fun and family friendly activities for the community to enjoy.

  • Writers Detention by Bridget Foley 

    • Detention for Writers is a two-hour weekly commitment to whatever project you’ve been promising yourself you’ll get to "someday." This is a space for finally getting started on that project you promised you would get to someday. Perfect for writing outlines, novels, screenplays, business plans, course work, etc.

  • StoryCorps: Mark the Moment

    • Record your own podcast with our StoryCorps DIY.

  • Spin Jams

    • By Krissy Humphries of Boise Flow Arts

    • Spin Jams are social gatherings for flow artists and anyone curious about Flow Arts. They offer an inclusive, welcoming space where people of all ages, genders, and skill levels can explore prop-based manipulation. These gatherings are the heart of the flow arts community—where we come together to share ideas, connect and become part of a community.

  • Re-Storying Boise: Being Mindful in Boise

    • With Global Lounge, The Idaho Humanities Council & Katha

    • Storytelling that explores identity, place, and belonging in Boise. This interactive workshop invites the community to:

      • Shift the narrative from "me" to "us and this place"

      • Re-Story Boise by exploring how the city has shaped our identities

      • Archive diverse experiences to push back against stereotype and erasure

      • Build community empathy through listening, embodiment, and retelling

  • America 250 Lecture Series: Hansberger Art Awards

    • Presented by the City of Boise

    • In partnership with Idaho State Museum and Idaho Public Television

    • Gather the family for an unforgettable trivia night inspired by "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?" Test your knowledge of Boise and Idaho history while uncovering some of our state’s rich past. Join us for fun, facts, and friendly competition—let's see who truly knows their stuff!
