MUSIC RECORDING BASICS

An Introduction to Audio Recording

The Introduction to Audio Recording class provides hands-on training in the essential tools and techniques of music production. Students will learn what’s needed to record a quality demo, including how to choose and use microphones, cables, and recording software and hardware. They’ll also discover how to capture the energy of a live band in the studio. From microphone placement and headphone mixes to tracking each instrument with clarity, participants will develop practical skills and confidence while recording musicians.

PARTICIPANTS WILL:

• Learn how to select and use microphones, cables, and recording equipment for high-quality demos

• Gain hands-on experience with recording software and hardware to capture professional sound

• Master techniques for microphone placement, headphone mixes, and tracking each instrument clearly

• Develop practical skills and confidence in recording the energy of live bands in the studio
